Dayprogram ancient and modern interiors in Amsterdam
Many trends in interior decorating can be traced back to old traditions. We are made aware of this when we experience the ambience of the 18th and 19th style living rooms in old canal houses. The mostly formally designed gardens of the period have inspired many modern landscape architects.
A department store will be visited in order to see how Dutch interior art has developed. Lunch will be served at a special location. We will visit several important interior decorators with studios along the canals to have a look at new designs. There will be a reception at a private house on the waterfront and dinner can either be taken at a stylish Art Deco establishment or at a modern style trendy restaurant
extra: a visit to the Rijksmuseum to see two unique dolls’ houses decorated entirely according to 17th and 18th century fashions.
Prices depending on your wishes and the number of participants.
