Dutch Tolerance in Amsterdam – walk
The Netherlands has a reputation for being tolerant. For our foreign guests we have put together a special program to show you several aspects of this tolerance. The programme starts with a city mansion that used to belong a 17th century merchant who had converted his attic to a Catholic church at the time of the Protestant Reformation.
We’ll then show you some modern examples of tolerance in the city by taking you on a walk through the red light area. Along the way you’ll be able to visit a smart shop and a coffee shop. The walk will also take you through Amsterdam’s China Town and will lead you past a Buddhist Temple, one of the first gay café’s since 1927, an Armenian church and a Portuguese Synagogue.
Starting point: NH Barbizon Palace Hotel/Central Station or other location
Prices depending on your wishes and the number of participants.
