Golden Age: architecture and painting
This day program dedicated to Amsterdam’s heyday, starts with an architectural cruise through the canals leading us to a historical canal house that used to belong to a rich Amsterdam merchant. A guided tour around its 17th century period rooms and the hidden church in the attic. Following: a walk via the warehouses of the United East Indian Shipping Company (V.O.C.), the Montelbaan Tower and the De Pinto House to the house where Rembrandt used to live and work. Here you will be able to admire 250 original etchings and drawings.
Finally we will visit the Royal Palace, the ultimate symbol of power and wealth in the 17th century. In the evening: dinner at a former patrician’s mansion.
