This day is dedicated to our seascape painter Hendrik Willem Mesdag and Scheveningen. First you will visit the Panorama Mesdag Museum: Scheveningen in the year 1881, painted on 120 metres of canvas. Afterwards you will have lunch at a historical artists’ club. At Mesdag’s attractive living quarters and studio you will be able to admire his personal collection of “Haagse School” paintings (by Israels, Breitner, Mesdag himself) and the French Barbizon School (Corot, Millet, Daubigny).
There are also ceramics by Colenbrander on show, besides a collection of Chinese and Japanese bronzes. A walk along the boulevard in present day Scheveningen followed by drinks and dinner at a special seaside bar .
