Royal Palace Amsterdam
The imposing Royal Palace is the architectural masterpiece from the Dutch golden age, designed in 1648 by Jacob van Campen.
Designed as town hall it was immediately called the eighth wonder of the world: a symbol of power and prosperity of Amsterdam. In addition to many works of art by Ferdinand Bol, Govert Flinck, Jan Lievens, beautiful marble sculptures by Artus Quellinus and Rombout Verhulst, the Palace (since 1815) houses the largest collection of Empire furniture, chandeliers and bells outside France. Except as a museum the Palace also serves as a reception palace of King Willem-Alexander.
You can also add a special comment for a tour:
“from town hall to Palace, golden age, Empire, sculpture and painting” or a combination of architecture, sculpture and outdoor space.
